Joan Garriga is one of the key figures of the Spanish pop music of this century. As the leader of Dusminguet and La Troba Kung-Fú he just created a new genre, rumbia, a mix between gipsy rumba and latin cumbia that explodes to infinity and beyond on El ball i el plany (2020), first recording under his real name. This is also the debut of his new band, el Mariatxi galactic, a powerful combo inspired by the sound of the Mexican norteños that you will find on his duo incarnation with Madjid Fahem (guitar for Manu Chao and La Ventura). The most exciting trip around the many worlds that you can find in his accordion: the Mediterranean, Jamaica, Balkans and the cumbia, vallenato, Cajun and zydeco.
